My kids love to help in the kitchen so they couldn't wait to help make and decorate cupcakes for their dad's birthday. We decided on a Mickey Mouse theme for the cupcakes.
Ingredients:
- cupcakes with white frosting
- red sprinkles
- red candy melts
- white candy melts
- chocolate sandwich cookies (1 for each cupcake)
- mini chocolate sandwich cookies (2 for each cupcake)
We used the sprinkles to cover the frosted cupcakes. Next we dipped the large cookies into melted red candy melts. This was the kids' favorite part.
After the chocolate hardened, I piped on white chocolate dots. If you don't have piping bags and tips, you can pour the melted chocolate into a resealable food storage bag and snip off a small corner. We placed the cooled chocolate-dipped cookies on top of the cupcakes and added mini cookies for the ears.
The kids were very happy with the final product.
