Simple Jet Craft for Boys (or Girls)

This jet craft is easy to make with a few simple shapes made from construction paper and it's great cutting practice for kids.

My five year old son really wanted to make a jet and this is what we came up with. We used an irregular pentagon, a larger triangle, a smaller triangle with one corner cut off, and a rectangle. Plus some star stickers for decorating. I drew the shapes on paper and he cut them out.

 To form the tail of the jet, I put two folds in the smaller triangle and glued the points together. This created a flat area so we could glue it onto the paper.

To make the cockpit, my son drew a pilot on half the rectangle and I folded it. We used the tabs to glue it to the jet.

We glued it all together, decorated it with stickers, and attached a string so it was ready to hang.

He liked it so much we made six more!
