Our favorite books about the nativity:
Room for a Little One: A Christmas Tale by Martin Waddell This is such a simple and beautiful story about Kind Ox, who invites little ones like Old Dog and Stray Cat into the warmth of his stable. After he welcomes Tired Donkey the animals soon make room for the most important little one of all: Baby Jesus.
The First Night by B.G. Hennessy A beautiful and simple book about the night Jesus was born. It begins with the shepherds in the field, describes the stable, and ends with what the baby felt - his mother's arms, his father's hands. The stunning art is color transparencies made from photographs of painted and carved wood.
The Story of Christmas by Patricia A. Pingry A simply written book perfect for describing the story of Jesus' birth to toddlers and preschoolers.
Christmas Angels: Read and Share by Gwen Ellis This book focuses on the role of God's angels in the birth of Jesus.
