Easy Thanksgiving Dinner Craft

Sure, I teach my kids about the first Thanksgiving and about being thankful, but let's not forget one very special part of Thanksgiving - the food.


A fun book that celebrates the traditional holiday feast is This is Thanksgiving.  It's a rhyming book that builds.  It starts with the mix of carrots and peas.  Turn the page and you have mashed potatoes and the mix of carrots and peas.  Next is cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and the mix of carrots and peas...  A really cute Thanksgiving book with repetitive text that is just right for preschoolers.

The activity we did was very simple.  We only needed:

• Grocery store ads or old magazines
• Paper plates
• Glue and scissors

We pulled out all the grocery store ads and flyers and made our own Thanksgiving plates.  The kids loved cutting and pasting and deciding what they would choose for dinner.
