One of the Easter books we like is Happy Easter, Mouse! by Laura Numeroff who also wrote the If You Give... series. Mouse dyes some Easter eggs and the next morning he finds different colored eggs hidden everywhere by the bunny. This is a great book for practicing colors and counting.
My plan was to have the kids decorate balloons to look like Easter eggs. I was even offering up the permanent metallic markers. No takers. This is what they wanted to do with the balloons instead:
Ah well. I decorated some and hung them on the chandelier for our Easter celebration.
Have any kid-friendly activities? I'd love for you to link them up (they'll show up on a bunch of blogs which you can find my clicking on the link below). I'll be featuring your posts on my facebook page throughout the week. Linking to Link & Learn
This is a GREAT idea!! My kids LOVE balloons and they ask me to blow them up for them on a daily basis. I cannot wait to do this with them over the weekend! Thanks so much for sharing! Have a very happy Easter! Brooke
ReplyDeleteI love how honest you were with this post! At least the kids had fun, and it looks like you enjoyed decorating the balloons. I love how they turned out.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? I could not resist permanent metallic markers, your kids must have some willpower ;)
ReplyDeleteThose are super cute!!
Bouncing balloons must be more exciting than coloring them! The Easter egg balloons do make great decorations though. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! I featured your Easter egg balloons on my blog today in my Weekly Inspiration- Easter Window Decoration Crafts With Kids. I'd love for you to stop by and take a look if you have a moment. :)
